The River Zala brings a significant amount of nutrients and fresh water into Lake Balaton, which is why experts consider this area to have the highest fish density in the lake.
In 2018, Starbaits Slovakia won from here, and in both 2019 and 2020 this sector produced the second-place team. In 2023, one team even exceeded the one-ton total catch mark in this area.
On the southern shore, few carp fishing areas are as popular as the Máriafürdő section. Teams that can properly map their swim can benefit from the inflow effects of the Western Canal (also known as the Mária Canal).
