Early this morning, the first reports came in that teams had started catching fish, and outstanding results were already being recorded.
Fishing from peg 38 in Ábrahámhegy, Team Balaton Carp Cup landed three carp over 20 kg, two of which were over 25 kg.
Throughout the day, the marshals had plenty to do, as reports of catches kept coming in continuously. Last year’s winner, Mikbaits & Kryston, also checked in, already with six fish for a total of 85 kg.
Not long afterwards, another remarkable catch was reported from the southern shore: Baguiro Carp Team, fishing from peg 248, landed a carp of more than 29 kg.
The storm warning changed several times during the day, which teams had to monitor continuously. At several locations, it could be seen that competitors switched to casting methods, as under such conditions they were unable to use their usual rigs.

By the end of the day, it could be said that nearly half of the field had already caught fish and entered the competition. We hope the 12th IBCC will continue with the same level of success in the days ahead.
