Record Catches and a Tight Race on Day Three at IBCC 2026

The third day of competition also delivered plenty of outstanding moments for the IBCC 2026 field. Early in the morning, news arrived from Siófok that the biggest fish of the competition so far had been caught: Team Nikl & Carp R Us – UB landed a 32.47 kg common carp, which currently puts them in the lead in the Biggest Common Carp category.

The morning brought more major developments, as a new leader also emerged in the mirror carp category. Fishing at Gumirádli Strand in Balatonakarattya, Carp Brothers Hunters caught a 26.30 kg mirror carp on peg 268, taking over the lead in the Biggest Mirror Carp category. This catch, made in the K-FISH sector, is further proof that at this competition, a breakthrough can come at any moment.

At the same time, the weather posed a serious challenge for the field. For much of the day, conditions remained overcast, and from the afternoon onward, first- or second-degree storm warnings were in effect almost continuously around Lake Balaton. Teams therefore had to react not only to fish movement and tactical demands, but also to the rapidly changing conditions.

By the evening of the third day, the overall standings were also extremely close. In first place was Tropic RidgeMonkey Team Cz with a total catch of 208.45 kg, fishing at Badacsonytördemic Beach in the Carp’R’Us sector. They were followed by Carpsonbaits with 196.25 kg from Keszthely, in the MIVARDI sector, while Balaton Carp held third place with 190.13 kg from Ábrahámhegy, also in the Carp’R’Us sector.

By the end of day three, it was clear that the IBCC 2026 field remains exceptionally strong, and the gaps are still far from impossible to close. New leaders have emerged in the big fish categories, the top of the overall leaderboard is becoming more and more exciting, and the weather continues to put every team to the test.
