The IBCC 2026 field continued to deliver surprises on the fourth day of competition. Few would have thought that the result recorded on the first day would practically double by the third day, with the total catch reaching 7 tons, and then surpassing the 10-ton mark by the morning of day four.
At the same time, the drop in the number of catches was already noticeable. The performance of the field was significantly affected by the cold front moving in, which also had a clear impact on the fish’s willingness to feed. As a result, competitors were able to land fewer fish than on previous days, yet the total result still continued to rise, clearly showing how serious the work on the banks has been.
The overall competition remains extremely close. A fierce battle is unfolding among the top ten teams, and according to the current standings, Tropic RidgeMonkey Team Cz is in the lead. However, there is still a long way to go in the competition, so the ranking can keep changing, and in the coming days any single bite could create a new situation at the top.
During the day, the crew visited several teams. On peg 214, Blankbrothers Austria got off to a strong start, where the team landed its first fish: a 24.50 kg carp in Balatonföldvár, at Fesztivál Hotel, in the SENZOR sector. This catch gave them a solid foundation for the continuation.

We also recorded memorable moments with the Danish Specimen Baits team fishing on peg 257: for them, a 24.4 kg catch was truly a dream come true, bringing special joy at this stage of the competition.

Our crew also visited Cassovia Carp Team, competing on peg 259 in Balatonvilágos, at the Municipal Beach, in the KFISH sector. The team’s total catch at that point stood at 85.38 kg, with an average weight of 14.23 kg, which also shows how consistent the performances in the field have been.

So by the morning of the fourth competition day, the total catch had already risen above 10 tons, while the weather made conditions more difficult for the teams. The fight at the top remains intense, the work on the banks continues without pause, and the coming days may bring even more twists to the story of IBCC 2026.
